Crystal Harris left Hugh Hefner brokenhearted last year when she called off their nuptials five days before the big day.
“The wedding is off. Crystal has had a change of heart,” Hefner tweeted on June 14, 2011.
But now, after rekindling their romance in June 2012, Harris, 26, and Hefner, 86, are set to tie the knot on New Year’s Eve and have officially obtained their marriage license.
Still, Hef must have been devastated when his wife-to-be became a runaway bride.Playboy playmate Crystal Harris and Hugh Hefner were set to wed in June 2011, but Harris — who is more than half a century younger than Hefner — called off the nuptials just a few days before their wedding at the Playboy Mansion. The couple ended their relationship completely after the broken engagement. BUT, a year later they rekindled their romance and are set to wed on New Year’s Eve 2012.

In 1991, Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland’s Hollywood wedding was set to take place at 20th Century Fox’s Soundstage 14. But it never happened. Roberts shocked the world when she broke up with Sutherland just three days before the ceremony and ran off with his best friend, actor Jason Patric. Friends said Sutherland was “shocked” by the split, but more than a decade later, he said, “I commend Julia for seeing how young and silly we were, even as painful and difficult as it was.”
Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow

Rachel Hunter was dumped by her fiance Jarret Stoll just two months before their August 2009 wedding. Hunter was devastated as “everything was in place for their wedding.” During the split, her rep asked the media to respect her privacy during “this extremely upsetting time.”

Alec Baldwin and Janine Turner were engaged in 1983, when they were both in their 20s and struggling to break out into show business. When the wedding was all set to go off, Baldwin broke the engagement off and Turner was devastated. “When I met Alec, I was 20. We got engaged. It was rushed, and it didn’t work,” she has said.
